While fashion-shaping ready-to-wear companies make plans to return to nature and natural, as Barutçu Textile, we prepare all our products and collections inspired by nature with the slogan “Back to Nature!”, which inspires our sustainability goals, commitments and practices, and direct the fabric fashion.
Our goal for 2025 is to use recycled and other sustainably sourced nature-friendly materials from a clearly known source in our fabrics. As Barutçu Textile, we support all organizations that give importance to agriculture and farmers, helping to protect forests and prevent deforestation.
Our environmentally friendly production processes and our fabrics made from certified fibers obtained from renewable resources contribute to a sustainable life and a cleaner environment.
We select the viscose fiber used in our fabrics from viscose manufacturers who have successfully completed the Canopy Style Inspections based on the Canopy Hot Button Report and have the «Green T-shirt» label.
We are developing our responsible production understanding with the GOTS certificate, which protects the rights of the employees, includes both environmental and social criteria even for the raw material and the place of work, and ensures the necessary conditions to protect the organic status of the product from the harvest of raw materials to labeling.
We make full traceable production with the Global Recycle Standard (GRS) certification, which ensures the monitoring and verification of the content of recycled materials throughout the supply chain until the end product including processing, production, packaging, labeling and distribution of products, by fulfilling the production requirements.
With our Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) certification, we provide monitoring and verification throughout the supply chain from farm to end product, to promote developments in sheep care, wool production on animal-respectful farms and land management, to support advanced farming practices and to ensure consumers are assured that the wool in their chosen product is truly RWS compatible.
The Oeko-Tex® 100 standard is a worldwide standardized testing and certification system for textile products and raw materials in all related processing stages in terms of environmental protection and ecological compatibility, implemented by an independent international organization. As Barutçu Textile, we renew the Oeko-Tex® 100 certificate every year as a requirement of the standard, by which we certify that the fabrics we produce do not pose any negative effects in terms of health and that they comply with the REACH conditions regarding harmful substances.
With the desire to leave a livable World to future generations and our understanding of responsible production, we test all our dyes and auxiliary chemicals that may or may not pose a danger to the fabric as a result of production, and publish our results on the «ZDHC Gateway» portal. In order to reduce the chemical load in wastewater, we follow the Manufacturing Restricted Substances List (MRSL) and perform the necessary controls, tests and trainings for production. As Barutçu Textile, we specially select all the dyes and auxiliary chemicals we use in production to meet all chemical requirements within the scope of international standards.
Barutçu Textile aims to reduce the stack gas emission values by 2021. Being aware of the environmental, social and economic risks that may be caused by climate change as a result of the effects of exhaust gases, and acting with the awareness of its responsibility, RAM Chimney Filter will be put into use in the near future.
With our environmentally friendly team, we develop methods and applications for the classification of textile wastes and textile recycling, and we develop and implement waste management strategies from the generation of waste to its disposal, without harming the environment and human health.
With ISO 50001 Energy Management System, we succeeded in reducing our annual energy consumption values by replacing our boilers and compressors with the latest technology energy efficient versions. By covering our paint jets with thermal insulation material with Efficiency Increasing Projects under the leadership of our R&D Center, we managed to prevent heat leaks and thus energy losses to a large extent. With these investments we have made, we have contributed to the protection of both our company and natural resources. We organize continuous trainings to increase the awareness of our employees regarding energy saving, waste management and environmental protection.
